GUILAYON

1.     History

            Guilayon was originally a part of Barangay Nambucayan, Tabuk, Kalinga in the old Mountain Province. When RA 4695 subdivided the old Mountain Province into four Provinces, with Kalinga- Apayao as one of the regular Provinces, this was the time Guilayon was created into a regular barangay of the Municipality of Tabuk authored by Barangay Captain Lorenzo Gunaban.

 

            Situated on the western part of the capital town of Tabuk, it is bounded as follows: on the Northwestern part of Municipality of Pinukpuk, on the Southern part is Barangay Bantay and Barangay Magnao. It has an estimated total land area of more or less 400 hectares, about 40% which is agricultural land, 50% forest land and 10% residential land and with a population count of 719 as of 2000.

 

            Barangay Guilayon is composed of five sitios, namely: Alloy, Tawang, Magpawayan, Cabayag and Callagan.

           

            The following is the list of barangay executives who served in the barangay during the period from 1962 to present.
