1.    History

Barangay Bagumbayan was created by virtue of Provincial Board Resolution No. 406, dated November 10, 1972, upon favorable recommendation of the Municipal Council of Tabuk. The creation could have been made earlier had it not been for the vehement objection of the Congressman Juan M. Duyan at the inclusion of sitio Macapel in the petition for the creation of an independent local government unit from Mother Barrio naneng.

Barangay Bagumbayan comprises Sitio Bagumbayan, Banat, Bannagan, Brookside, Colongocong and Gawidan which were all sitios of old Barrio Naneng.

The first Barangay Captain who was appointed by then Kaling Apayao Provincial Governor RolandoT.Puzon upon ratification of the resolution creating Barrio Bagumbayan was Francisco Gaano. Unfortunately, Barrio Captain Gaano died before completing his term of office. He was then succeeded by Councilman John Mangliwan who served until the next barrio elections.

Barrio Captain Mangliwan was replaced by Silvino Cos-agon who in the regular election held. When Barrio Captain Silvino Cos-agon left the Barrrio for a change of residence he was succeeded by Gayyaman Naganag. All in the succeeding local elections, Emilio Wanason became the Barangay Captain and who was replaced by Edmundo Daodaoen in 2002 and who still holds office as Barangay Chairman to date.
