TABUK, Kalinga – An inspection team theorized that the “Lappat Bulge” that occurred April this year in Sitio Lappat, barangay Cabaritan here was caused by the birth of a fumarole or a volcanic vent considering the relative proximity of the site to a dormant volcano.

Mt. Binubulauan, said to be a dormant volcano, is located at Balatoc, Pasil.

Tabuk, Kalinga (16 August) -- Mayor Camilo Lammawin Jr. reported his administration invested in job generation and livelihood projects to increase productivity of the local government's constituents.

In his second state of the city address delivered recently at the Tabuk Pastoral Center here, he said that in 2008, 350 benefited from trainings on welding skills, food and beverage preparation, dress making, table skirting and auto-wiring, spending P250,000.00.

TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The deaths here this week of  a third year college student and an 11-month old girl from the dreaded dengue fever should serve as a wake up call to local medical  service providers and the people of the province.   

Jeremy Aguinaldo, 18, a third year college student residing at sitio Hilltop, Bulanao, this city, expired at the Kalinga Provincial Hospital (KPH), also in Bulanao, before 6 AM of August 11 without undergoing platelet concentrate transfusion due to unavailability of supply in the province while 11-month old Nashiva Erich Ledda of Purok 5, also in Bulanao,  was only diagnosed as a dengue case two days after admission because that was only the time the medical technologist reported to work.

2 Kalinga scouters join New Zealand international gathering PDF Print E-mail

Tabuk, Kalinga (8 August) -- Two girl scouts from Kalinga joined the international Tour 2009: New Zealand Encounter held on July 20-30 and organized by the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS).

According to Kalinga-Apayao Girl Scout Executive Gumie Pinhikan, Senior Girl Scouts Sherleen Ann Agtina Damian and Ysabet Mae Banasan Omengan, both students of Tabuk National High School - Science Class, represented the province in this international event. They were accompanied by Pinhikan and Josephine Omengan, in her capacity as member of the Kalinga-Apayao Council Board.
